Our client a leading Defence and Engineering organisation are looking for a Application Support Engineer to provide Engineering support to a major Military project team. The successful candidate can expect to be part of a major project team working on a variety of systems for UK and Foreign Navies.

Working within the Military Applications Engineering Department but part of a dedicated cross functional project team the duties will include :-

- Project engineering including production of customer specific drawings to meet the requirements of Classification Societies, Shipyards and enduser.
- Production of customer specific documentation including interface documents, FAT, HAT and SAT (Factory, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials documents) and system manuals.
Project management including liaison with Customer, Shipyard, 3rd party manufacturers and many internal departments.
- To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements

Required:

- A good knowledge of Marine electronic equipment, interfaces and standards ie Radar, Autoplilots, Gyro systems, Int/Ext Comms, RS422, NMEA, IEC61162, IEC 60945.
- Technical background with system engineering knowledge, qualified to degree level (or similar)
- Experience in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Military/Naval systems and procedures.
- Experience of Autocad, Excel, MS Office,MS Project and Access.
- Knowledge of Classification Societies and IMO standards, particularly related to IBS rules.
- Knowledge of system networking, LAN, WAN etc.
