Full Description:
• What’s involved:
I. Delivering a multi-disciplined role as a service to the architects, contract administrator and as requested the client, where the post shall fulfil a role of both in house administration procedures, and principally construction site based reporting to ensure a daily flow of information from site to office is maintained.
II. To work along side the architects, contract administrator to ensure the projects completion by the contractor has satisfied the design, construction documentation, quality assurance standards, and methods of construction, including all schedules, specifications/NBS and specifically the priced Bill of quantities as applicable.
III. To ensure the contractor follows their ‘own’ procedures, maintaining regular and legally obligated statuary authority inspections.
IV. To assess the designers, structural, Mechanical and Electrical and other nominated consultants risk assessments, method statements, Construction Design Management (CDM) procedures and to report concerns for actions, ensuring a contribution towards the site based hazards has been offered, noted and approved.
V. To assess the on-going and daily Health and Safety procedures of the contractor, and the site safety for London Borough Tower Hamlets officers, ensuring all measures have been taken to prevent the potential for injury through the correct certified inspection procedures, risk assessments and completion of office based registers.
VI. Preparing weekly site reports with daily site information, suitable for reporting/implementation by the contract administrator/lead architect, the client, the Quantity Surveyor, and the contractor. To ensure the accuracy of the site based information can be implemented and applied as evidence during any potential contractor claims, subsequent arbitration and/or legal court proceedings.
VII. To attend meetings with the architects, contract administrators, and to offer factual supporting information in a fair and reasonable manner towards the discussions. To arrange meetings with the site foreman, and the on-site clients to ensure both parties are communicating, including specifically Health and Safety and security issues are dealt with.
VIII. To ensure items such as delivery schedules, batch testing, dockets, waste acceptance tickets, safety and regulatory markings/etchings, British Standard markings, BRE appraisals are clearly seen during delivery and as required left to exist in a permanent method. To visit fabrication plants and ensure specification procedures are being carried out prior to deliveries to site.
