Paraplanner, Surrey . £Competitive Salary

This independent financial advisory company are seeking to recruit an additional high calibre Paraplanner, for their Private Client team.

To be successful you will need to be able to make an immediate contribution in supporting the Consultant to achieving objectives, deliver a high quality of service to clients and be able to demonstrate a breadth of understanding of the private client industry including pensions, investment and protection related products and services.

Working closely with your Consultant, your principal responsibilities within this role will include:

Prepare letters and technical reports for consultants, from a brief and/or client file information. Research products and funds to enable suitable providers to be selected for inclusion in a benefit / investment strategy. Review and comment on the suitability of existing pension, investment and protection arrangements. Handle client correspondence of a technical nature on behalf of the consultants (which may include provision of specific information to clients). Ensure that consultants are kept up to date/notified re any difficulties or non-standard matters, as appropriate. Ensure timely & accurate implementation of any advice as required and ensure continuous communication with Consultants/Clients as appropriate. Act as technical interface between consultant and client. Proactively collate information required for reports. Commercial awareness so as to produce reports in a sales format.

In addition to the qualities previously mentioned to be successful the individual will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:

Candidates should have successfully attained their Certificate in Financial Planning or equivalent) and be progressing towards their Diploma in Financial Planning Previous experience within a Paraplanning role is an advantage, ideally with a specialisation in the Pensions arena. Practical application of their technical knowledge within their career. Knowledge of writing reports on EPP, SSAS, SIPP, IHT aspects, Pension Transfers, general investment would be preferable. Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads. Be proactive and flexible in their approach to work during high volume activity or project based tasks. Professional with a strong customer focus approach to their work. Able to demonstrate creativity within their work, with effective client solutions. Well developed analytical and problem solving capabilities. Team Player and willing to develop & mentor more junior members of staff. Good working knowledge of IT Software i.e. Market Research/Best Advice/Report Writers etc. Please note our internal IFA Software is - 1st Software.
